WHY DO THIS?

Celebrations are matter, they bring delight and meaning to important milestones and day-to-day moments. At the same time, everyone has their own way of celebrating. Identifying some specific ways you and your family might want to celebrate can help you cultivate gratitude, stay energized through the tougher times.

RELEVANCE TO THE WHOLE FAMILY APPROACH?

Understanding what brings families joy as individuals and as a group provides energy that can be tapped at key moments in the family’s journey.

Instructions

  1. In the first circle, make a list of things that bring you joy or give you energy. Ask yourself:

    What do I love to do? 

    What gets me excited?
    
What inspires me?
    
What makes me smile?
    
What gives me positive energy?
  2. In the second circle, make a list of things that bring your family joy. 


    What does everyone in your family look forward to doing?
    
What brings your family together?

    What brings the most energy to everyone in your family?
  3. In the third circle, write down how you can use the joys to create rituals for your family to celebrate or bond. Consider:

    How might I celebrate reaching a milestone for myself? 

    How will I celebrate with my family? 

    How might I celebrate important achievements of a family member?

    How might I document important moments?

    What will I do for myself to feel refreshed and renewed?

    Is there a tradition I want my family to uphold?
    
How might I celebrate important moments with my coach?
